I am very honored to be the 13th chairperson, starting in 2022, of the Korean-Swedish Association (KSA), which was launched in 1963 and has a 60-year tradition, First of all, I would like to thank Dr. Min-sun Park, the 12th former chairperson who has led KSA for the past four years. With the leadership and dedication of the former chairperson, KSA was able to establish various systematic and regularized programs. 

My relationship with Sweden began in 2010 when I became the country head of Korea for Gambro, a global medical device company in Sweden. Sweden, which I have experienced in the past years, has been an enviable country with a fair and transparent social system and a country where warm-hearted people who are full of self-esteem and considerate of others live together. 

Since 2015, together with Dankook University's Scandinavian Research Institute, through the leadership and excellent performance of the former chairpersons and the dedicated efforts of KSA working group, KSA has been conducting a home visit and training program for Korean young people adopted to Sweden.

In addition, together with SWEA (Swedish Women's Educational Association), KSA invites Swedish families living in Korea to open restaurants at the end of each year in order to promote understanding of both countries' cultures through the experience of making Korean food (Kimchi, Pajeon, Mandoo...) and holds a 'Young Leader's Forum' for future-oriented development of the young people in two countries. 

Personally, I was happiest when I worked as one of the foundation members of SCCK (Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Korea) 10 years ago and the most memorable moment was when I attended the 10th-anniversary event of SCCK on September 30, 2022 and expressed my feelings about watching SCCK over the past 10 years.

Lastly, I would like to thank the 11th former chairperson of KSA, Cheon-yong Ha, for leading the association from 2008 to 2018. 

 Thanks to the efforts of the chairperson and the board of directors, KSA was registered as a non-profit corporation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2010 and has been granted legal status as a private diplomatic organization.
