2009 Farewell party of Mr&Mrs Arvelid
The farewell party for Mr & Mrs. Arvelid was held at the Seoul Club on January 13, 2009. With the presence of H.E. Ambassador Lars Vargo and the former presidents of the association, around 30 people gathered to greet our friends and devoted members, who will be leaving Korea in February.
As part of the event, Mr. Ha C.Y delivered an appreciation plaque to each of Mr & Mrs. Arvelid for their dedication and enormous contribution to our association. This was followed by many congratulations and farewell speeches by guests attending the party.
Mr& Mrs. Arvelid moved to Korea in 1995 with an initial plan to stay a little more than 3 years in order for Anders to establish Haldex Korea Ltd, but now they have ended up living in Korea for 14 years.
Whilst Anders served as vice president of the Korean-Swedish Association, Siv worked as president of SWEA and Nordic Club where she helped with a close connection between Korean and Swedish women in Korea. Their spirit of friendship and cooperation between Korea and Sweden was also recognized by the Seoul metropolitan government and they were granted honorary citizenship of Seoul in 2004.
It is beyond description how much the family has contributed to our association, and it will be hard to find someone who could replace them. We will miss them so much. We sincerely wish them health and happiness in the years to come. They are scheduled to leave Korea in early February 2009, and plan to revisit here a few times a year.
As Mr. Arvelid said in the evening, it was not a “farewell party” but a “see you again party”.

(Place has been changed from Seoul Univ.of Education)
*How to get there: Subway (Line #1), Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Station.
*What to prepare: Just yourself and with football shoes and uniform(bottom only)
*Uniform(top) will be given by the Association
*Participation fee: KRW20,000 (ground rental, drinks and snacks will be offered)
